As a new resident, especially if you are also new in Sweden, it can be important to get some help and support in the establishment phase. In the municipality of Tanum there are people that work with guiding and helping new residents to get information and support during the first time after the arrival to the new municipality. For example you can get help with:

• Registration in the Swedish population register
• Advice and support to contact different authorities
• Application of home equipment loan
• Submission to Swedish studies, school and pre-school
• Schedule time with the dentist, health checkups
• Support with all kinds of paperwork, information etc.

Are you seeking asylum?

As an asylum seeker, you also have rights. First of all, the Migration Board is helping you with your questions, but sometimes the municipality can also help you. You will see the visiting hours and the telephone hours of the Refugee- and integration center above. In Tanum municipality there are different meeting places where you can meet new people, learn Swedish or where the children can play. See under Associations and meeting places.

Social services in the municipality can help families with children who need support.
